TSA Spills Grandpa’s Ashes — Then Laughs About It

We all know that the TSA treats the flying public with disdain and disrespect. We’re just marks that they can steal from, threaten, molest, or assault.

Now the TSA’s disrespect extends to the deceased! ABC News is reporting:

A man carrying his grandfather’s ashes home from Florida’s Orlando airport is furious after a confrontation with a Transportation Security Administration ended with the deceased man’s ashes spilled on the airport floor.

John Gross was leaving Florida with the remains of his grandfather  in a tightly sealed jar marked “Human Remains”

Mr. Gross told the TSA what the jar  contained and to be careful with it. But the TSA didn’t listen. The TSA Officer proceded to open the jar and spread the ashes out on the floor.

Was it an accident? Probably not! The TSA Officer thought this desecration was extremely funny. Mr. Gross told reporters:

“[The TSA Officer] didn’t apologize. She started laughing. I was on my hands and knees picking up bone fragments. I couldn’t pick up all, everything that was lost. I mean, there was a long line behind me.”

For its part, the TSA refused to apologize, and accused the passenger of lying. In an official statement to ABC news, the TSA said:

We have been unable to reach the family to learn more about their perspective on the incident, however, our initial review concluded that the circumstances as described in some reports are inconsistent with what we believe transpired.
